Drink O’ the Day: The Emerald Isle

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Ok guys lets stop filling the pint glass with beer and get a little more fun. The Emerald Isle is a fantastic way to say “I’m better than light beer!”

11/2 oz Jameson Whiskey
3oz Midori Melon
4oz Ginger Ale

Fill the pint glass halfway with ice. Mix the whiskey, Midori, and the ginger ale together.  Rock and roll… And when the cuter girl asks you what your drinking…Don’t be a tool offer her one.

Drink O’ the Day: The Vesper

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

So you rented a nice tux and want to look dapper?  Well if the Vesper is good enough for James Bond, I’m sure it can work for you.  Now please only order this drink while properly dressed. If you are wearing one of those bedazzled Affliction t-shirts…go have a bud light and get off my site.  Now back to the drink…

3 oz Plymouth® gin
1 oz Ketel One vodka
1/2 oz Kina® Lillet Blanc wine

Shake well until ice cold, strain into a deep martini goblet. Add a thin slice of lemon-peel.  Now get back to the baccarat table…

Drink O’ the Day: Electric Kamikaze

Monday, September 15th, 2008

This is a fantastic drink because the Electric Kamikazeis in fact a Kamikaze with Blue Curacao instead of triple sec.  This makes it interesting on many levels.  If you are a bartender you can charge more for a blue drink.  If you are a customer you have a great convo piece in your hands.

1-3 oz vodka
1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1 oz lime juice

Combine the Vodka, Blue Curacao, and Lime Juice in a glass with ice. Shake well, then pour through a strainer into a rocks glass with fresh ice in it.

Drinlk O’ the Day: Dante’s Inferno

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Hey guys… Sorry for the lack of new toys over the past few days; research is tough.  Here is a cool one I just came across, it is tricky to make and takes a lot of time, but Dante’s Inferno is a sure fire way to impress that hot girl on the other side of the bar.

1 1/2 oz Stoli® Strasberi vodka
3/4 oz Marie Brizard® watermelon liqueur
2 splashes 7-Up® soda
2 - 3 squirts chocolate syrup

Take a martini glass and rim with sugar. Then, draw a pentagram in the glass with the chocolate syrup. Combine the liquor and one splash of 7up over ice and shake. Pour carefully into the very center of the martini glass to not upset the syrup design. When finished, add another splash of 7up for effervescence. Garnish with a chocolate covered strawberry and serve.

Drink O’ the Day: The Red Devil

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Hey everyone… Last night I was in a debate over what a Red Devil actually is.  But that schmoe doesn’t have a place to let the world know what the drink is really made of.  So without further ado…

1 1/2 oz vodka

1 1/2 oz peach schnapps

1 1/2 oz Southern Comfort®

1 1/2 oz sloe gin

2 oz triple sec

2 oz orange juice

1 splash grenadine syrup

Good lord! It is truly one step away from jungle juice.  So we mix all of these lovely items into the shaker with ice… Shake, strain, and pour

Drink O’ the Day: Manannan Mac Lir

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Phew that’s a mouthful… This is an Irish shooter (if you couldn’t tell by the name.)  The Manannan Mac Lir is named after the Celtic God of the sea; and contains all of the spirits a good “southie” would drink.

1/3 oz Bailey’s® Irish cream
1/3 oz Irish Mist® herbal liqueur
1/3 oz Irish whiskey ( I use Power’s)

Combine these ingredients, strain into the shot glass…Voila

Drink O’ the Day: The Rusty Nail

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Today’s drink is a perfect nightcap with colder weather approaching.  The Rusty Nailis best served with one over-sized ice cube in the rocks glass rather than many regular sized cubes.

1 1/2 oz Scotch whisky
1/2 oz Drambuie® Scotch whisky
1 twist lemon peel
Pour the scotch and Drambuie into an old-fashioned glass almost with the ice block. Stir well. Garnish with the lemon twist.

Drink O’ the Day: Whiskey Punjabi

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Today’s drink is in honor of the Hookah Bar on the East Side of Manhattan I was at last night.  I normally don’t plug places but it is The Hookah Cafe at 303 E 60th.  Here we go you crazy dancing turks…

3 oz premium whiskey

8 oz unsweetened iced tea

First we mix…then we stir.  Because of the tea’s caffeine, the drink creates a very energized buzz, similar to that produced by an energy drink and vodka mixture.  Have a great day my friends….

Drink O’ the Day: The Grateful Dead

Friday, September 5th, 2008

It may be that I am jamming along to Mars Hotel by the Dead or that I am just sick of seeing people drinking Long Island Iced teas… Today’s drink The Grateful Dead has but only one reason of existence, to get you smashed.  We will need…

1 part tequila
1 part vodka
1 part light rum
1 part gin
1 part Chambord® raspberry liqueur
Place ingredients in shaker with ice, Shake concoction , pour  into Collins glass, and serve.  Just be ready to do fruity hippie dancing… Peace and love

Good Morning World…In the spirit of pre-noon drinking, I bring you the 007.  Even though it has an orange juice base; it is a perfect drink anytime.  You will need…

3oz  Stoli “O”

2oz orange juice (without pulp)

2oz 7up

We fill a pint glass halfway with ice.  Then add 2oz of the vodka, the orange juice, and the 7 up.  Use the remaining 1oz of vodka to top off the drink.  Voila. Enjoy….just don’t let your boss find out
