Drinlk O’ the Day: Dante’s Inferno

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Hey guys… Sorry for the lack of new toys over the past few days; research is tough.  Here is a cool one I just came across, it is tricky to make and takes a lot of time, but Dante’s Inferno is a sure fire way to impress that hot girl on the other side of the bar.

1 1/2 oz Stoli® Strasberi vodka
3/4 oz Marie Brizard® watermelon liqueur
2 splashes 7-Up® soda
2 - 3 squirts chocolate syrup

Take a martini glass and rim with sugar. Then, draw a pentagram in the glass with the chocolate syrup. Combine the liquor and one splash of 7up over ice and shake. Pour carefully into the very center of the martini glass to not upset the syrup design. When finished, add another splash of 7up for effervescence. Garnish with a chocolate covered strawberry and serve.

Drink O’ the Day: The Red Devil

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Hey everyone… Last night I was in a debate over what a Red Devil actually is.  But that schmoe doesn’t have a place to let the world know what the drink is really made of.  So without further ado…

1 1/2 oz vodka

1 1/2 oz peach schnapps

1 1/2 oz Southern Comfort®

1 1/2 oz sloe gin

2 oz triple sec

2 oz orange juice

1 splash grenadine syrup

Good lord! It is truly one step away from jungle juice.  So we mix all of these lovely items into the shaker with ice… Shake, strain, and pour

Welcome To The Show…

It seems as though throughout my life there have been more nights involving wine and spirits than not.  Not to say I started drinking earlier than most but …I have spent many a night behind and in front of a bar. Currently, I am a libation consultant (pretentious name for a wine clerk.)  Everyday I receive questions about hip drinks, wine pairings… and boxed wine.

This is a place to let people share their ideas, and for me to chastise the people who drink cheap light beer.  Moreover…everyday i will post new drinks, and other spirit based threads as need persists.  Bear with me, and if you have any suggestions let me know…
